Slaithwaite Band 
Hello all in the band. I am a keen Bb bass player. I conduct the Nantlle Vale Brass Band and play with the Deiniolen Brass Band. This morning I went into a charity shop and bought an LP for 50p. It is a Merrydale- The Slaithwaite Band record. I am listening to it as I write this and enjoying it very much. I was eager to know if the band was still playing.
Hi Gareth. Wow, Merrydale has made it to North Wales! We’re glad you’re enjoying listening to it. You may recognise a few player names who moved on to bigger and better things. For us current players we’re still going strong and enjoy our banding very much. You must drop in on a practice if you’re ever over in West Yorkshire.
Just a little note to say how much I appreciated your concert at Glossop Band Club on Sunday afternoon. In particular I was very impressed with your rendition of the Egmont overture by Beethoven: you definitely did keep the performance in the style of the early 19th Century by not being to heavy with the loud dynamics . Also I really enjoyed the Area piece .
So thanks again for a very entertaining afternoon and good luck to you all in the Yorkshire area .

Thank you for your lovely comments about our concert, glad you enjoyed it, and on you first visit to us, we try to keep our christmas concerts special, I hope you managed to find a seat, it was very busy and well supported with alot of new faces in the audience which is great.
